  • The Stratosphere boasts the same high speed elevators and observation decks as other tall buildings, but this tall building adds an extra special twist. At the top of the Stratosphere Tower visitors will find a veritable amusement park filled with thrill rides. It is not the speed or the power that makes these rides so thrilling – it is their location. The fact that these thrill rides sit perched upon the tallest building in Las Vegas adds quite a bit to the wow factor. If the thought of dangling precariously over the Las Vegas strip, or riding along the towers railing on a roller coaster, gets your heart pumping you will want to make sure to make this unique amusement park a part of your Vegas itinerary.

Once you reach the top of the Stratosphere Tower you will have a choice of thrill rides to test your courage and your stamina. Here you will find rides like the X-Stream, a giant arm that catapults riders out over the edge of the tower, allowing them to dangle over the Las Vegas strip and enjoy some spectacular – if truly frightening – views of the area below.

Another popular ride at the Stratosphere Tower is aptly named Insanity. To get a mental picture of what this ride is all about just picture one of those claw games where you try to grab a stuffed animal and place it through the slot. Insanity is just like that – except you are the stuffed animal and the claw dangles you over the edge of the tower at every conceivable angle. At one point riders will find themselves danged face down right over the strip, giving them a true sense of why the Insanity ride earns its name with every trip.

Riders will also find the Big Shot, a catapult type ride that hurls riders up above the tower at high speed, then drops them right back down again. After a couple of bounces the ride is over, but while it is going on it is quite a thrill. Riders are securely strapped into a chair for the experience, and that is a good thing because the ride creates 4Gs of force. Riders will feel themselves lifting up on their seats as they are catapulted into the air and back down to earth, making this ride a real thrill.

Most people have a tendency to think that it’s all or nothing when it comes to losing weight. Thankfully, you can start on your road to weight loss by just merely tweaking your everyday diet.

My friend asked me something startling last week. It was over lunch. Between bites of a cobb salad (minus the cheese, bacon and blue cheese… I wonder what Larry David would have to say about that), my friend asked me rather bluntly “You know, I’ve been trying to lose weight for six months now. Last week I even found myself reading an article on how to mix HCG, so tell me: how do you keep so thin?”

I swear to you this is not me showing off. This completely shocked me because I don’t consider myself that thin. I’m not one of those people who likes to go “God, I’m so fat, look at me” just to get attention, but I also don’t consider myself thin. I’ve had many a weekends looking in the mirror going “god, I gotta lose some pounds”. I’m not fat or anything, I just don’t view myself as “thin”.

This got me to thinking though, if my friend considers me “thin”, then I must be doing something right on the weight front. I’m not one of those people who are like “watch what you eat, diet, exercise, repeat”. I’ve never really followed any kind of formula. I guess I’m more of a “just don’t do anything crazy” type of dieter.

Ok, let me explain my theory: Say you’re going to a fast food restaurant. The key is to not go crazy. You don’t have to get the salad with no dressing, if you want a hamburger just get the smallest hamburger on there. Most fast food places are most famous for their most basic burger, so why not try that? You can have a few fries, but only a few. Get a small or share with someone else. Also, as painful as it is, look at the nutrition facts, this way you can find ways to cut a few calories out here and there (my personal trick: cut out mayonnaise or other thick type sauces, they don’t usually bring much flavor to the game anyway).

The old adage is true, it’s all about moderation. Being full is a disgusting feeling anyway, so why would you push yourself past that point just because something tastes good? Why have four pieces of pizza and feel sick when you can have two and full satisfied.

When it comes to exercise, well, I wish I did it more. When I do do it though, I try to keep it enjoyable by listening to good music. If you can pick the right pick of songs your workout routines feel much, much shorter.

These are just a few ideas. It’s not foolproof and frankly, you probably know more than you think. We all have tricks; (like knowing how to mix HCG) we just don’t think about them that often.

Yachting Holidays – Fort Lauderdale Florida

Posted: Febrero 6th, 2010 by gblognews

Florida’s Fort Lauderdale has been a top tourist destination for decades. One of its primary attractions are the plentiful yacht facilities. Many have gained repute and esteem as some of the finest in the world. The Monaco Yacht Show has even recognized this city’s impressive yacht facilities. In some ways Fort Lauderdale is indeed the Monaco of Florida, with yachts belonging to the rich and fampus based there – and both Fort lauderdale and Monaco have exclusive yacht shows annually in October. And of course Monaco has the Grand Prix run around the streets of Monte Carlo and Casino Square, while Florida has Daytona.

There was a time when the mention of Ft. Lauderdale brought preconceived notions of party kids from colleges all over the country. Spring Break became a notorious event. Through the years the city has lost that trivial image. Ft. Lauderdale is trumped today as being the American version of Venice, Italy. This city also has an extensive structure of intricate canals.

Ft. Lauderdale is the seventh largest city in Florida. This means it is a convenient location for travel of all types. Port Everglades is just a few miles from the city and estimates state around 3 thousand cruise trips depart from this port every year. Ft. Lauderdale is currently the yachting city of America. All major international yacht charter brokers, yacht brokers, and agencies for crew have local offices within the city. The city also has an impressive corporate and business network that easily supports the yachting industry. Ft. Lauderdale hosts the annual boat show held every October. This festival is the largest in America. The city offers many related services for those who don’t own yachts. Yacht chartering or renting companies are common. You can also hire a crew or staff to assist you on your yacht. The chartering isn’t limited to the oceans surrounding Ft. Lauderdale. You can also opt to use services that focus on the Gulf Coast and Caribbean islands.

The most popular destination for yachting in Florida is the keys. The Florida Keys are tropical and offer smooth sailing. There is a great deal of distance to be explored even though the islands are seemingly small on geographic maps. The are more than 100 miles just between Key West and Key Largo.

Visitors can easily break each of the five islands down into even smaller communities and towns. Every community carries its own tradition and history. Yachters aren’t limited to the keys or even the open seas. You can also explore any of the many barrier islands, rivers, harbors, anchorages, marinas, and natural parks. The more daring yachter will look forward to the open seas of the Gulf of Mexico. Yachts are also an important faucet of the global market. General estimates in the field state that 76 percent of yachts ordered will be custom designs. The jobs associated with the yachting industry are often high-paying and plentiful. One manufacturing company can bring quite a number of positions to a single location.

This has developed into quite an occasion to save health care dollars including cardholders in all 50 states. Regularly, these prescription medication discount cards are time-honored at more than 7 ,000 local and countrywide pharmacies.

More than a few non-profit companies and clinics issue the cards as a means to fulfil a need and help out their neighborhood during tough times. The discount cards have been distributed to regional United Way agencies, clinics, physician offices and pharmacies in addition to area community health centers. These cards are not healthcare insurance, nevertheless they can cut down the price tag of your prescriptions by up to 33? percent or more. The person simply presents their card to the pharmacy then they are sure that they will pay either the discounted price or the pharmacy’s retail cost, whichever is lesser.

There are citizens that are saving $15 -$65? on a prescription medication as a consequence that is funds they can make use of to purchase groceries, pay house payments or pay the phone fees. To be eligible the person needs to be without insurance and your family earnings must not go above certain guidelines.

There is a incredible want for drugs help at this instant, in particular as a lot of individuals continue to lose their jobs. A bunch of citizens require help at this instant more than ever.

Start Getting Your Ex Boyfriend Back Today – Learning How and Doing The Do!

Posted: Enero 29th, 2010 by gblognews

There are two critcal elements that go hand in hand with any kind of relationship. They are knowing that you must be prepared to make sacrifices and also accepting that you will need to make compromises. You will to need to keep both of these things in mind if you are thinking of getting your ex boyfriend back. The painful truth is, when trying to mend a broken relationship its never easy. But inside this article you will find some good solid advice that will make getting back together much less of a daunting task and give him reasons to want to get back with you.

Firstly you need to stop obsessing over the question “How can I get back with my ex boyfriend?” and begin to focus on repairing what caused your relationship breakdown. By focussing on this you will be able to get rid of the stress and tension that could well have brought the breakup on in the first place.

So, the big question is “Where do you start when your thinking about getting your ex boyfriend back?”

When any kind of relationship breaks down we can take this as a very strong indication that something has gone desperately wrong. It’s highly likely that it is one of two reasons why your boyfriend has left you:

    1. There was not enough of “you” in the realtionship and therefore the relationship may have become stale or

    2. There was too much of you because you were clingy and things became too claustrophobic.

Whichever way you choose to look at it, one of these causes is going to lead the way to what can only be described as “Relationship Suicide.” So if you are asking yourself “How can I get back together with my ex boyfriend?”, then in order to act accordingly you need to begin looking at which of these major factors may have contributed to your break up with him.

This may be a slightly harsh way to look at things, but whatever the main issue was that massively added to the split, it was highly likely to be something that you did or something that you did not do! Harsh yes, but put quite simply, that’s usually how it works. The person who got broken up with, could have either done something or not done something and the person wanting to break the relationship up may have felt pushed away by these actions (or non-actions). So, now what? What can you do to get him to come back? To start with we need to work out what pushed him away in the first place and work on changing whatever it was.

It’s time to sit down and take a long hard look at the situation. You need to ask the questions “What is it that made the breakup happen?”, “Which of these were your fault and maybe could have been handled better?” and “Which of these things were not your fault and were out of your control?”

The reasons that were out of your control can be removed as they will very likely still be out of your control. Instead, focus on the things that you may have done wrong. Focus on the things that you feel you could have handled better or controlled better and that you can in fact change. If you were responsible for your biggest reason for the split and it is something you can change or put right, then there is an excellent chance that you can get him back. But you must however be sure that you are prepared to make the necessary changes and compromises that may be required to make him want you back again.

You’ve got to “Learn How and Do the Do!”

It’s not enough to LEARN How to get back with your ex boyfriend. Nothing will happen unless you DO something about it. So take action NOW!

Potentially The Best Way To Reduce Stress

Posted: Enero 25th, 2010 by gblognews

I have never been able to have a life which was free from anxiety and worry. I worry about almost every aspect of life and living this way has caused me a lot of problems including various bouts of ill health from time to time. I needed to find a way of coping with and reducing the amount of stress in my life and in this article I write about how I have managed to achieve this.

So what do I stress about? Well I suppose it is anything and everything. Women and my relationships with them; my financial position – having a lack of money and worrying about how I am going to be able to pay the bills etc. I also have anxiety over my career and my personal friendships. For whatever reason I also used to worry about what other people thought of me.

I am the kind of person who is classed as a thinker. I will be the first to admit that I over-think at times; some people would go as far as to call me a stress-head – others, no doubt, see me as some sort of freak. This thinking is very much in a negative manner and is a cycle which I have found hard to break.

About a year ago I was invited to appear on a national radio show to talk about my occupation which is website promotion and offering stuttering treatment, and also strangely enough helping an organisation to do with becoming a foster carer. I was due to talk live on this radio program at around 2pm. All morning as was my way of course, I was thinking and worrying about how I would come across to other people. I was afraid that I would make a fool of myself and would sound like a bit of an idiot. I also, for whatever reason, started to stress about whether I would be able to remember, under the amount of pressure that I was likely be under, the important aspects of my occupation which people would be interested in.

I was getting myself into a bit of a state and even thought about phoning up to cancel the interview. I then called up a good friend of mine who has always provided me with sound advice. I explained about the radio show and about my fears. He stated that I needed to relax and to even look forward to the experience. It would, he continued, be a chance to promote my own services and therefore was something to be grateful for.

He advised me that what I needed to do was to keep myself busy. If I am very busy, I would not have any time to think in my usual negative way. He stated that he believed that I needed to find things that would occupy my mind. He thought that I was spending the majority of the time stressing about this and that. If however I had a much busier life then I would not have so much time to think in this manner.

This is something I had realised a few years before but had in truth not acted on. I thought about what my friend had said and then decided to get stuck into some much needed gardening. I am happy to let you know that the radio interview went fine.

Comparison Between The Plug-In Hybrid Cars And The Standard Hybrid Cars

Posted: Enero 21st, 2010 by gblognews

The standard hybrid car is an old version of plug-in hybrid car. When standard hybrid cars were first introduced in the market, people were overjoyed by knowing the fact that they now can own a car, and maintain it very easily. This car became very popular within no time, because of its eco-friendly characteristics, and fuel efficiency. The plug-in hybrid cars are not in the market yet, but the specifications, and functionalities we know from General Motors, and Toyota Motors give evidence that it will break all records of success of standard hybrid cars.

Plug-in hybrid cars are more fuel efficient than standard hybrid cars. In addition, emissions that cause the green house effect are low. There are many rumours circulating in the market about plug-in hybrid cars, but the ground realities will be unveiled only when people will own, and drive them.

Standard hybrid cars are cheaper than plug-in hybrid car, because the batteries, which are primary source of powering a plug-in hybrid car, are very expensive. In terms of fuel efficiency, both cars are very different. The average mileage of a hybrid car is 30+ mpg, whereas plug-in hybrids claim to make it 100+ mpg, which sounds too good to be true. However, if it comes up to its promise, then we shall anticipate a greener revolution within a few years when plug-in hybrids flood the market.

Gasoline is the main source of emission of dangerous gases from a car, and because plug-in hybrid cars rarely use gasoline, we can say that these cars are the next generation cause that will save us from green house effect. On the other hand, a standard hybrid car uses bio-fuels or gasoline, which is very dangerous to the environment.

Cars, standard hybrids, and plug-in hybrids, carry different weights. Plug-in hybrid car is heavier, because it carries heavy batteries. Another major difference between two cars is that plug-in hybrid cars use cleaner fuel, and that makes the maintenance of this car very easy. The cost of maintenance of plug-in hybrid cars is also less than standard hybrid cars.

Both these cars can get charged only from different and specific places. Plug-in hybrid cars do not have to visit frequently to fuel station, because its fuel efficiency is better than the standard hybrid car.

If you would like to go on a long drive or want to go for shopping in the city, your choice should be standard hybrid car, as plug-in hybrid car is designed to commute between home and office.

    Political Donations Slide Amid Slump

Posted: Enero 17th, 2010 by gblognews

WASHINGTON — Political fund raising has suffered a rare decline since Election Day as corporate political-action committees have trimmed campaign donations amid an economic slump.

Contributions from company PACs fell 6% to $8.2 million in the first two months of the year, compared with the same period in 2007, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis of the most recently available fund-raising reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.

That contrasts with big increases in corporate PAC donations at the start of the previous three election cycles. PAC donations by businesses jumped 37% in the January-February period in 2007, compared with the same period in 2005. In the first two months of 2003 and 2005, corporate PACs’ contributions increased by about 50% over the previous elections.

Campaign contributions from companies don’t come from the corporate treasury, but rather from management-level employees who pool their personal funds into a single fund-raising account called a political action committee. Those pooled funds have declined as employees “looking to trim their household budgets cut out the contributions they make to the company PAC,” said Sheila Krumholz, the executive director of the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics.

Corporate PACs saw a 14% decline in employee contributions to $16.5 million in January and February, compared with the same period in 2007.

Pfizer Inc. led other companies with a $141,000 decline in PAC donations to $87,000 in January and February, compared with the same months in the last election cycle. “Pfizer is committed to making our voice heard in our nation’s health-care debate,” the company said in a statement. “Our PAC is bipartisan, and we are committed to supporting comprehensive health-care reform.”

PAC donations were down 80% at Chrysler LLC; 89% at U.S. Steel Corp.; and 28% at General Electric Co., according to the data. Spokesmen for Chrysler and GE declined to comment; a representative of U.S. Steel didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Several companies that were among the major donors in previous years have either filed for bankruptcy protection or no longer exist in their current form, such as Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and Bear Stearns Cos.

Companies that received funds from the Troubled Asset Relief Program showed a sharp drop, including Citigroup Inc., Bank of America Corp. and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. PAC donations by J.P. Morgan were down 75% to $20,000 in January and February from $81,000 during the same period in 2007, according to the data. Bank of America, Citigroup and J.P. Morgan declined to comment.

Family Friendly Adventures in California’s Napa Valley

Posted: Enero 13th, 2010 by gblognews

Where in the world can you pet a dolphin, dodge a geyser, fly high in a hot air balloon, ogle at ostriches, and tour a castle – all in a single day? Napa Valley, of course.
California’s Napa Valley is famous for its 300+ vineyards and wineries, but there’s so much more. It’s also an exciting, family-friendly destination. The area’s beautiful scenery draws hikers, bikers, and horseback riders. If your family prefers water sports, the Napa River has cruises, boat rentals, and even kayaking for the adventurous.
The Napa Valley is a short drive from San Francisco. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (formerly Marine World) is nearby in the town of Vallejo. Children (of all ages) are entranced by the marine shows featuring dolphins, seals, and killer whales. The many amusement park rides range from 11 gravity-defying roller coasters including the Boomerang – which goes backwards – to go carts, climbing walls, and toddler-friendly water play areas.
Continue north and you reach the town of American Canyon, gateway to the Napa Valley. The town offers affordable lodging options and convenient access to Napa and Sonoma County vineyards. Many wineries offer special wine tasting events, behind-the-scenes tours, and dinner packages.
The town of Napa is just 7 miles from American Canyon. Along with upscale shopping and dining options, the town is home to many Napa Valley tour companies. The hot air balloon tours won’t take you around the world, but do offer an exhilarating birds-eye view of the serene wine county landscape. Depending on the tour package, extras may include a champagne toast or even full gourmet breakfast after your flight.
There’s plenty to do on the ground too, as you continue north. Many families head straight for the small town of Calistoga, where wineries meet geysers.
The “Little Old Faithful" geyser is a top attraction. Stand back – way back! – and watch as scalding hot water shoots over 50 feet into the air every 30 minutes or so.
While the geyser is an impressive display of the area’s geothermal activity now, the Petrified Forest is a powerful reminder of the area’s violent volcanic history. Three million years ago, a massive volcanic eruption toppled a Redwood forest and covered it in a thick layer of ash. The silica-rich ash eventually turned the trees into solid stone. There’s a museum and shady trail where you can view the major tree excavations.
Calistoga’s Safari West offers a different sort of trail – one filled with cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and other exotic animals. It’s not just an animal park; Safari West is a 400-acre wildlife preserve dedicated to education and wildlife preservation. Visitors can take guided safari tours and even stay overnight in a luxury safari tent. Be sure to plan ahead: reservations are required for all tours.
Now, any parent who managed all this in a single day would surely be ready for at least one glass of wine. The Castello di Amorosa is just the place. Set in a stunning castle, the winery offers relaxing horse-drawn vineyard tours and welcomes visiting families with a special area for kids to enjoy grape juice and coloring while parents attend an adults-only area wine tasting.
Of course, nobody could adequately experience the Napa Valley in a single day. You may visit the first time just for the wine, but you’ll soon discover that Napa has something for everyone in your family to enjoy. The area’s beauty and diversity beckons to travelers of all ages, encouraging many repeat visits.
